The following constitutes a list of services rendered in the fields of Museums and Heritage, Arts and Culture, Library and Information Services and Sport and Recreation:

• Capacity building through development of skills and education.
• Develop opportunities within communities for careers in Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture.
• Infra-structural development.
• Integrated physical planning with other spheres of government, donors and other partners.
• Develop integrated plans for maximum utilisation of facilities.
• Create opportunities for individuals, organizations and communities to investigate strategies to increase the economic benefits derived from involvement of the DSRAC.
• Create opportunities for investment linking with Cultural Industries Growth Strategies and Sport, Cultural tourism.
• Mass participation and audience development.
• Increase opportunities for participation by staging National Days and provincial events.

The DSRAC delivers its services through the Head Office and the seven District Offices as well as Institutions.
